The style of apron you select may determine what size you should buy (our split leg aprons should be bought specifically for your height, while our classic flat front aprons can be selected by how far down you want the apron to go on your body. All of our aprons are handmade in our Vancouver, BC, Canada production studio by our team of 10 seamstresses and leather workers.
All of our aprons that do not have leather straps or pockets are 100% vegan. Our “vegan leather” is a polyurethane vinyl and does not contain any animal products.
Absolutely! Maybe you want a custom liner fabric, or maybe a special vinyl or leather that we don’t have in stock. Let us know by email what you’re hoping to use, and we can let you know if the material will work, and what the price of your apron would be.
All of our aprons are made by our team in our Vancouver studio. From design to cutting, sewing, leatherwork and embroidery, all of it is done in-house. This means that we can offer an apron that’s more customizable than anyone else, but it does mean that it takes a few weeks for aprons to be made before shipping. Typically of standard aprons are made in approximately 1-3 weeks and custom aprons in approximately 3 weeks. If you need an order expedited for a special occasion, let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
Our bleach-proof denim is 100% cotton and woven in a fabric mill just like any other denim. What makes ours special is the unique black dye that we use that is not affected by peroxide or chlorine bleach (100% effective against peroxide bleach, and about 98% effective with chlorine bleach). There is no plastic or wax coatings with this fabric, which means it is soft and breathable while still being bleach resistant.
While peroxides will not stain our bleach-proof denim, if bleach is left on the apron for extended periods of time without washing, holes may eventually form. Please make sure to wash your apron regularly to prevent peroxides from sitting on the denim for extended periods of time.
Our leather straps are made from a full grain leather that will sometimes show marks, lines, and scars from the original cowhide. These are not defects and your straps will soften and develop their own natural patina with wear.

Absolutely! Please use our Logo Embroidery Request Form and we can send you a quote for embroidery costs. If ordering a custom apron using our Custom Apron Builder, you can add your logo to the apron during that process.

Yes! Please use the Logo Embroidery Quote Request Form. Once we have that, we can provide you with a quote for the costs of digitization* and embroidery.
Logo embroidery costs are based on size and density of the logo. We are sorry, but logo embroidery is not a free service.
*logo digitization is a one-time fee to digitize your logo at the requested size to an embroidery format and will remain in our library for your future use.
We offer free text embroidery for any apron order. The size/colour/font options are outlined on the Free Text Embroidery Form.
Please note that logo embroidery and text-based logos are not free as they are outside of the options outlined on the Free Text Embroidery form and require digitization.
We get that the back of the embroidery can look a bit messy. When machine-embroidering text, the thread ends left on the back side after connecting letters/sections are not trimmed too short to prevent thread unravelling, maintain embroidery durability, prevent fabric damage. Most modern embroidery machines are programmed to trim the thread to an optimal length to prevent it from being too short and unraveling. Typically approximately 4~5mm of thread end is left after trimming. We do not recommend trimming them as that could cause the thread ends to unravel or loosen.

Keep in mind that it can take your financial institution 7-14 business days to post this back onto your online banking statement.

The amount charged at checkout is the exchange amount you would have seen in your preferred currency based on the current exchange rate. Canadian orders over $150.00 CAD* are eligible for free standard shipping via Canada Post. Orders to the USA currently ship via DHL courier at a discounted rate. We will ship your apron in the time estimated following production. If there is a delay, we will let you know. Search and Rescue Denim Co. is not responsible for packages delayed by shipping carriers.
If suspect that your package has been lost in transit, please check your tracking information (if available) to see if you can locate your package. If a package is undeliverable, postal services sometimes hold parcels at your local post office for pickup. If you are still unable to locate your package, please send an email to contact@searchandrecuedenim.com and include your order number and tracking number (if available).

One side is a soft, completely non-porous and wipe-able vinyl which can be sprayed down and sterilized with a spray cleaner or soap and water. If you would like to fully wash it to clean the denim twill liner, you can wash it by hand in cool water and hang it to dry.
Waxed canvas aprons cannot be machine washed as it will strip and damage the wax coating. To clean your apron, use a dry soft bristle brush to remove any dust or dirt. Gentley spot clean stains using a soft clean cloth dampened in luke warm water.
A long time! It’s rare that we have customers report they’ve actually worn out their apron, and are usually buying another one just to add to their collection.
If there is any defect with your apron in the first year it’s fully covered by us under warranty (including shipping). We will repair apron defects whenever possible before considering replacement of an apron. Please see FAQ - Can I get my apron repaired? for further details.

Our leather aprons are made from a soft and supple cow hide. They can be spot cleaned with a damp cloth. For a more thorough cleaning, we recommended dry cleaning.

We've designed our aprons to be comfortable and functional for long hours of wear. While we're confident you'll love your apron from day one, we know that finding the perfect fit is important. That's why we're giving you 100 days to try it on at home.
Take time to put it on, move around your house, and make sure it feels right. Check the strap adjustments, pocket placement, and overall comfort. Need a different size? Not quite the right style? No problem! Just initiate a return within 100 days of receiving your apron.
Please note that our 100-day trial applies to standard, non-customized aprons only. Aprons must be returned in new condition, without signs of use, stains, or alterations. We recommend trying the apron on over clean clothes and keeping all tags attached.
Please package and ship your return to our workshop using your preferred carrier. Once we receive your apron, we'll process your full refund back to your original payment method.
